1. Place and date
Competitions are held 21-22 July 2012 in Pervomayskoe and Roshchino municipality of Vyborg district of Leningrad Region. The event center is Olshaniki village (Pervomayskoe municipality).

5. The participants
5.1 To participation in the Russian Rogaining Championship are allowed teams of 2 to 5 people at the age from 16 years, in the following categories:

Places are awarded to teams in several categories according to sex and age of the team. Teams participating in the junior category, or veterans, will automatically participate in relevant open category MO, WO, or XO. Teams participating in the category superveterans automatically participate in relevant open category and the category of veterans.
The age of participants is determined on the date of the start of competition (on July 21, 2012).
Every team must include at least one member aged 18 or older.
5.2 To participation in the 8 hours format are allowed:
- teams of 2 to 5 people at the age from 12 years in the same categories (5.1). Every team must include at least one member aged 18 or older;
- single participants at the age of 18 years or older in the same age categories (item 5.1) in offset separate of teams.
5.3 To participation in the 3 hours format are allowed:
- the single members at the age from 16 years in the same age categories (5.1);
- teams of 2 to 5 people at the age from 12 years in the mixed categories (5.1). If in team there is a participant younger 16 years, should be also the participant at the age of 18 years or older.
5.4 To participation in the 8 hours-MTB format are allowed single participants at the age of 18 years or older, men and women without division into age categories.
5.5 Each participant sole responsibility of the state of his health, which confirms the personal signature of receipt. Responsibility for the lives and health of minors by adult members are coaches or team representatives, as evidenced by the personal signature of the coach or representative (name stated in the application). Each participant must have and to show at registration the policy of obligatory medical insurance.

6. Conditions and rules of competitions
6.1 By the decision of the International Rogaining Federation (IRF) the Russian Rogaining Championship 2012 is included in the list of qualifying competitions to the World Rogaining Championship 2013 г. On the Championship are allowed foreign participants and operate IRF rules, except for the points B2, В26, С10, С19, С20 which are replaced with the below-mentioned:
В21. All participants should be at the age of 16 years or older. Every team must include at least one member aged 18 or older.
В261. For consideration of protests it is appointed jury according to point С18. The jury decision is definitive and obligatory referees and organizers.
С101. The checkpoint on the terrain is marked by a sign in the form of a trihedral prism with the party of 30x30 centimeters. Each side shares a diagonal from left bottom in the right top corner on a white field above and orange (red) – below. Use for marking of CP of the paper prisms turned round a tree, a column, etc. is allowed.
С19, С20 – are excluded.
6.2 By the competition in 8 hours and 3 hours format operate the Russian rogaining rules taking into account changes and additions given in newsletters.

7. Terrain
7.1 The area of competitions is to the north and to the east from the settlement Pervomayskoe, it is limited from the southwest with the highway A122 (Ogonki-Podgorye) and from the southeast with the highway A120 (Ogonki-Vaskelovo). From the north and northeast of a clear boundary isn't present. Size of the area of competitions of 190 sq.km.
7.2 District characteristic:
- Altitude: from 70 to 160 meters.
- The ruggedness: the rugged terrain.
- The maximum drop height on one slope: up to 90 meters.
- The population: a sparsely populated area.
- The nature of soils: hard, but in places soft, boggy.
- Water objects: the river Volochaevka, a lot of lakes and bogs.
- The dominant tree species: fir-tree, pine, less deciduous (birch, aspen).
- The animal world is represented by elks, wild boars, beavers, etc.
- Natural and cultural sights: a river Volochaevka canyon, the rests of a defensive line «Karelian wall» of the Second World War.
- Road network: medium, high near lakes and settlements.
- Dangerous place: breaks of the river Volochaevka, some sites of bogs, highways. Intensity of movement on highway A122 is medium, on highway P34 (Roshchino-Sosnovo) from low to medium (depending on time of day).

9. Punching system
9.1 At competitions the electronic punching system at checkpoints «SportIdent» is applied. Each competitor should have the chip which number specifies at registration, or to lease the chip.
9.2 In Russian Rogaining Championship use of only one model of the chip is possible:
- SI6. Number of control records: 192. Number range: 500000 - 999999.
In 8 hours format and 3 hours format may be used also other models:
- SI5. Number of control records: 36. Number range: 1 - 499999.
- SI8. Number of control records: 30. Number range: 2000000 - 2999999.
- SI9. Number of control records: 50. Number range: 1000000 - 1999999.
Chips models pCard and tCard in the competition do not apply.
9.3 To prevent possible separation of team members and controlling the passage of CP chips each participant in each party are fixed on the wrist special surveillance bracelet. All participants of one team should be punched on one CP within 2 minutes, differently points for this CP to team won't be added.

10. Definition of results
10.1 Result of team is the sum of points, awarded for a mark in checkpoints minus a penalty. Checkpoints have cost from 2 to 10 points, cost of point is equal to the first figure of its number (points in cost of 10 points have three-value number 101, 102, etc.). For each complete or incomplete minute delay after a set of control time a team is charged 1 point penalty (but no more quantity of the gathered points).
10.2 The finish for the late teams is closed in 30 minutes after the termination of control time. In case of the team finish after that time the points gathered by team are cancelled.
10.3 Team with the most points or, in the case of a tie score, a team that finished earlier awarded the higher place.

11. Weather and Climate
At the end of July on the Karelian Isthmus prevailed day temperatures of 20-25° C, night of 10–15° C. There is a probability of rains.

12. Arrangement of the event center, travel
12.1 The event center settles down on the northern coast of the lake Maloye Podgorskoe near the village Olshaniki, in 3 kilometers to the Northeast of Pervomayskoe.



12.2 Travel for nonresident and foreign participants to a place of competitions through St. Petersburg. St. Petersburg is connected by railway communication with the majority of the cities of the European part of Russia, and also with Minsk, Kiev, Lviv, Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn, Helsinki, Tallinn. There is an international airport "Pulkovo", ferry communication with Helsinki and Tallinn, bus service to Ukraine, Belarus, Finland and the Baltic countries.
12.3 Travel by public transport from St. Petersburg to the event center:
1) Electric train from the Finnish railway station to station Roshchino (the Vyborg direction). Further the bus 124 to village Olshaniki. The schedule of electric trains on lines St. Petersburg – Roshchino on a website ppk-piter.ru, the bus 124 schedule for summer of 2012 from Roshchino: 6:00, 8:20, 10:50, 14:00, 16:50, 19:10, from Pervomayskoe-1: 6:40, 9:10, 11:30, 15:00, 18:00, 19:50.
2) From underground station “Parnass”:
- the bus K-678 St. Petersburg – Michurinskoe, schedule from St. Petersburg 7:20, 9:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00, 19:00, 21:00, schedule from Michurinskoe: 6:10, 7:10, 9:50, 11:40, 13:40, 15:40, 17:40, 19:40 (time in a way Michurinskoe - Pervomayskoe 50-60 minutes);
- the bus K-675 St. Petersburg – Pervomayskoe, schedule from St. Petersburg 6:45, 8:15, 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 14:15, 16:15, 18:15, 19:15, 20:15, 21:45, schedule from Pervomayskoe 5:30, 6:15, 7:45, 9:15, 10:15, 12:15, 13:15, 14:15, 16:15, 17:15, 18:15, 20:15;
- the bus K-600 from 7:30 till 21:30, departure in process of filling with an interval about 30 minutes.
12.4 According to demands of participants travel by the custom-made bus from the center of St. Petersburg on Friday July 20 or early in the morning on July 21 (for arriving by trains on the Moscow railway station), and also to St. Petersburg on July 22 can be organized. Demands for travel on July 20-21 can be made on a website with the demand for competitions, for July 22 – at registration of teams in the event center.

13. Accommodation
13.1 As the main place of residence the camp near the center of competitions is planned. Accommodation of participants in “Olshaniki” boarding house isn't provided in connection with its high load during a summer season.
13.2 The next to the event center “Rayvola” hotel is located in the settlement Roshchino. Room reservation on a website www.raivola.spb.ru or by phone (812) 347-79-15. Travel to “Rayvola” hotel from the underground station "Prospect Prosveshcheniya", the K-680 bus, an interval of movement of 15-20 minutes. 14. Catering
14.1 A food during competitions is provided in the center of competitions from 14.00 on July 21 till 12.00 on July 22. Tea and cold drinks will be offered, also an approximate set of products: fruit, dried fruits, confectionery, bread. After the finish the dinner from three dishes is provided to participants of 24 and 8 hours formats.
14.2 On a distance special items with the drinking water are provided, designated in the map blue circles and a letter W. Besides drinking water in these points no food is provided.
14.3 Shops and catering establishments in the area of competitions are available in settlements Pervomayskoe and Olshaniki.

15. Information about visas
15.1 Citizens of Ukraine and Belarus can drive on the territory of Russia without visas, according to the internal or international passport. Citizens of the countries of the European Union need the visa.

16. Entries
Preliminary applications for participation move from April 1 inclusive by completing of a registration form on a website: rrc2012.rogaining.ru. Applications for participation in 24-hours and 8-hours formats are accepted till July 10, in a 3-hours format till July 16.Applications are accepted in event center only when it is technically possible.

17. Entry fee
17.1 The costs of the organization, preparation and carrying out competitions, rewarding of winners and prize-winners will be recovered through sponsorships and participation fees of participants. The size of the entry fee per participant:

17.2 The entry fee includes payment for placement in a camp, a starting package (map, description of control points, number and control bracelet for each participant), a food during competitions and after the finish. Rent of the chip of an electronic mark is in addition paid 100 RUR / 3€ (for participants of 3 hours format – 50 RUR / 2€).

18. Rewarding
18.1 In the championship of Russia the teams which have taken from 1 on 3 place in the categories, are awarded by medals, diplomas and memorable prizes. The teams which have taken 1 place in open categories MO, WO and XO, are awarded also by memorable cups.
The title of the champion of Russia on rogaining 2012 is awarded to the teams which have taken 1 place in each category of the 24 hours format.
18.2 In competitions of 8 hours and 3 hours format the teams (participants) which have taken from 1 to 3 place in all categories, are awarded by diplomas and memorable prizes. With participation in category of four and less teams (participants) the prize awards only the team which has taken 1 place.
